Kamiya has said that the Carnotaurus was his first real attempt at designing intentionally, rather than just trial and error, back in 1995. ![]() The Spinosaurus is a 2017 design, and the Styracosaurus dates from 2019. I folded all three.Ĭhen Xiao’s models are much more recent creations than Kamiya’s. I particularly like the Styracosaurus as it is more three-dimensional than the other two models, which gives it more of a sense of character. There are several T-Rex models and Triceratops designs, but I like these as they are a little bit more unusual. The Styracosaurus (the four legged one) and the Spinosaurus (the one with the ridge on its back) were both designed by Chen Xiao, and the Carnotaurus is by Satoshi Kamiya. There is a huge range of origami dinosaur models available, and these are three of my favourites. Step 18: Fold that outer tip beside the dino’s neck. Step 17: Tuck in the pointy head you just made. Step 16: Fold the head tip back the opposite way and fold another smaller tip. Step 15: Open up the Dino’s head bottom, and flip it backwards. Step 14: Fold up about a thumb’s width from the right to form the head. Then fold it to half from left to right corner. Step 13: Fold the top edges to the center, make a crease. Then repeat Step 12 for this side just like shown in the picture. Fold the bottom left and right edges again to the center crease. Fold the edges flat to the center crease. Step 11: Open up the bottom side of the flap.
